People in Pubs, alternatively monikered The Third Place, takes its title from the urban sociologist Ray Oldenburg, who described the third place as somewhere other than home or work where people gather regularly — with friends, neighbours, colleagues and strangers alike.

Ten artists depict the British pub through its familiar motifs and ephemera, and through a collective nostalgia for a room that once stood as a cypher for British identity and community. Holman’s contribution continues an ongoing series of laser-etched drawings worked from stills photographed inside pub interiors — a record of gathering in rooms that are, one by one, disappearing.

Shown alongside Robin Broadley, Jim Brook, Jack Brown, Grace Clifford, RJ Fernandez, Leo Fitzmaurice, Laura Greenhalf, Eleanor McLean and Richard Shields.
